Alex, Thanks, for 0605000, another incredible guitar. When I first found your site, about a year ago, my first love of them all was your Z1. I always wanted to have one and now I do. I am especially fond of this one as it has tremolo, another feature I always wanted. I am absolutely flipped out. It doesn’t get much better than this. It is hard to believe that you have gotten better at building guitars than you were when you built my 121001 and 060500. It is hard to imagine that your skill has progressed and that you actually make guitars better than before. I could make mention of all the technical things guitar players usually talk about, like electronics, “fit & finish”, tuners and blah, blah, blah, but that’s really none of my concern. I’ll let you think about that stuff. All I am concerned with is what happens to me when I pick up a guitar to play it. The feeling I get from it, the tone I get from it, the feel of the instrument, the way it plays. I’ve been playing guitar for about twenty-five years and I have never experienced anything like a Zachary. A Zachary is, without question, the best solid body electric guitar in the world.

My latest guitar, 060500 is a Zachary. That’s all that really needs to be said about it as far as I am concerned. Each of us who are fortunate enough to own one of your peerless instruments knows full well what that means. To those who are not fortunate enough to know what I am talking about – you simply aren’t trying hard enough and you are missing out; it’s your problem. The guitar looks great and feels great in your hands, while sitting or standing. Your contours and neck cut feel like they were made specifically to fit me, alone. The myriad of sounds you can get from a Zachary, especially when combined with your Zachary Tone Optimizer and even my little tube amp, is absolutely bizarre. I find something new every day. Or I can unplug the guitar and play it all by itself and it is equally amazing. I don’t even know where to begin when I pick up one of my Z guitars to play. I have to mess around and try every beginning and every end and every middle of every spectrum. It’s like an explosion of stars somewhere in outer space. You just can’t beat these guitars for whatever kind of playing or recording you do. They are second to none.

The name I have for 060500 just flowed to my awareness quite naturally. If you look closely at the picture of the plants I have sent along with this message, you can see the thorny vines with the array of pink flowers stemming from them among all the other plants. This flower is called, Poisian. There are many species of Poisian and the Poisian in the picture is only one of them. I took this picture while I was in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand in 2005. It is one of many, many hundreds of species of plants we have on our resort property. My wife, Chinta named me after this particular flower, as it is quite common in Thailand for people to name their kids and loved ones after flowers that resemble certain traits in their personality or to name them after a flower as a blessing. Chinta chose Poisian for me. She thinks it’s beautiful in it’s own way, with its flowers aligned in perfect rows and it’s long, thorny, menacing stems that can be dangerous if not handled with care. The flowers on the plant come in many colors, e.g., red, dark red, yellow, white, pink, etc. They are aligned in rows with multiples of four, eight, sixteen, twenty, and thirty-six and even in bursts that look like fireworks explosions. Now, I think that this plant is the perfect musical plant and the perfect plant for me. The rows of flowers in their multiples and colors makes me think of notation in music, e.g., 4/4 time, 8th notes, 16th notes, measures, bars, etc., and also of the exacting, meticulous nature of the guitar’s builder. And, with the many, many multiples and colors of the flowers, they represent the notes and chords that I can make come out of the guitar. The long, thorny stem of the Poisian plant doesn’t look at all like the usual flower stem. It looks like wood. In fact this particular plant has a color almost identical to 060500. The thorns of the Poisian plant are to remind one of the sensitivity of this amazing musical instrument and that one will need handle it with care.

So, here it is in my home, another guitar of a lifetime. This one is called, Poisian. I named the guitar after a plant that suits it perfectly. I named it after me, because this amazing guitar and myself fit together perfectly. We are one, so we should be called the same name. I am it and it is I.         Your Friend, Poisian
