This is the first Z1 with holes in a long time. The body blank weighed a tone before it was shaped. Bubinga is the wood from hell. Its a very heavy and hard wood. There was no choice but to put the holes into it. The guitar is still on the heavy side at 8 lbs. The body and the neck are a nice match since they are both laminated from the same woods. The gold hardware makes it all very classy looking.
