PRS Fans Strike Back to Set Me Straight
Also known as the "idiot" page

Could they be right? Should I become like PRS and emulate everything about them? Should I just give up and stop building guitars altogether and admit that I don't measure up? Should I just look for a company to buy my weird design and entire business. Then I can stop trying to make guitars and become a goofy face instead? These are all important and profound thoughts and decisions I must contemplate.
Keep the messages coming people. Someone needs to set me straight. I know I am on the wrong track and should follow the PRS path, I just need courage and your support to do it. There is no better guitar than a PRS, everyone knows it, or was that Fender Strat? Regardless, Thanks for setting my ass straight. Who was I trying to fool anyway?
Emails are provided in case you want to contact any of these smart folks.

just as i suspected....another jealous high quality wanna-be...

look captain, your axes are unique.....but....well....

the entire PRS bashing thing really puzzles me......Paul Smith makes a killer guitar, & his success obviously bothers you. back before the almighty internet message boards, Paul was out pushing his instruments, in his car, by himself....do you honestly think that people buy PRS guitars due to thier beauty? well, if that's true than playability, precision, tone & diversity should never be an issue....with anything.

sure, there are some folks out there who buy a new ferrari because of its looks....i'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the speed, feel, handling & ride.....hmmmm...

yep, every mother f**ker out there plays a PRS...so what? ya think they're paid to be seen with a PRS??? c'mon brother...

what kind of guitar did YOU play before venturing into the luthier world??? & WHY did you play it..... ????? An Ibanez because of Vai? A ESP 'cause of Kirk Hammet.....or wait a minute, a Strat because of Hendrix? A Les Paul because of Ace Frehley? A Telecaster 'cause of Johnny Winter??.....guess what buddy.....what ever the answer, then THEY'RE MARKETING WORKED!!!

did you know that AFTER Hendrix died FENDER'S sales almost TRIPLED!!!????? Same with Randy Rhoads & Jackson........how about these fu**kers bringing back KRAMER.......Why on earth would ANYONE buy a fu**ing Kramer????? Old school '80's dudes, re-hashing the Panama & Little Guitars days in their bedrooms.......or some kid with a nose ring saying....geez, that guitar's cool...nope.

How about Ernie Ball & Eddie Van Halen????? What about Peavey & Eddie Van Halen.......What about Marshall, Mesa / Boogie, Peavey, Bogner, VHT, Matchless, Demeter, Soldano????......Who plays that trash anyway?????.......I'll tell ya who brother, the people who want THE BEST TONE, for THIER STYLE............GIBSON, IBANEZ, ESP, SCHECTER, FENDER, PRS, BRIAN MOORE, PARKER, MARTIN, whoever.....people BUY what works for them......too bad it is'nt a fu**ing Zachary.

Best of luck on your quest....-V.J.

Sounds like you’re a little upset you can’t sell your own guitars like Paul Smith does his. Grow up and mature as a person and your guitars and business may then do the same.    Bryan      bryan@tahoeimagery.com

Zach: I found your 2002 article about PRS entertaining, but I thought you may want to get a bit more familiar with the actual facts regarding the history of PRS. The most confusing part of your attitude is this idea that Paul Smith shouldn't sell guitars to anyone because all of his current fans weren't around when he was young and struggling.

It is his very success that has earned him all of this adulation and his large following. If I were PRS the last thing I'd do is have an attitude about new customers. If people want to tattoo PRS on their ass I'd be asking myself 'what do I have to do to get them to tattoo 'Zach' on their forearms?'

The reasons PRS is a success are very simple:
1.) His guitars are an instant classic design and represent an esthetic that appeals to a broad spectrum of guitar players
2.) PRS quality is outstanding and they have managed to maintain that even as they ramped production up to hundreds of guitars monthly. I've owned over a dozen and they have all been flawless.
3.) Nobody understands the importance of marketing and promotion better than PRS. The fact that so many young bands use their guitars is a testament to their effective marketing and artist relations. PRS seems to be THE hot guitar today.

If I were an aspiring luthier I'd study PRS and try to learn from them. Knocking them may be fun, but I'm not sure I get it.

By the way, PRS never went in and out of business several times. He simply worked as a guitar repairman, building his guitars on the side and eventually put together a business plan and got backers. I know Paul Smith personally and I can tell you that nobody paid his dues more than Paul did. I'm sure most young luthiers work very hard. The difference with Paul Smith was that he also worked smart AND was in the right place with the right guitar at the right time. In other words 20 yrs ago Paul Smith was EXACTLY where you are now. There was no deal with the devil or magic ticket to success. Just hard work, innovation and (you can't succeed in business without some of this) luck too. If PRS seems to big for their britches these days (and they can be) remember that the day to day operation of the firm has not really been in Paul Smith's hands for years. He is more of a PR guy/product consultant than anything else. Good luck with your enterprise. Nothing would please me more than to see some real competition for PRS.

Give Up!
All that time you spent sitting down to bash PRS guitars should have went into designing an instrument that isn't the ugliest thing on the market. I wouldn't play one of your guitars if it was the best thing I've ever heard. AND I GUARANTEE THEY SOUND LIKE SHIT ANYWAY! You look as if you have almost mastered how build a mediocre cutting board.     tbenson326@comcast.net

Hi there! I went to your webpage to check it out and I was greeted with possibly the most unprofessional website I've ever seen in my life. I actually was appalled by the language used and your attacks on other manufacturers, luthiers and designs in general. Based on your website alone, I would not consider buying one of your guitars. I also checked the gallery and noticed that one of your guitars has completely screwed up ferrules - they're all over the place. Don't knock other manufacturers quality when you can't even make one that an beginner guitar builder can pick out from a photo on the internet.

You Sleeseball
I just wanted to let you know that i think it is pretty much sleezeball marketing that on your website in plain view for anyone to see, you have the names of many other guitar makers (All of which are better and more highly renowned than YOU) embedded in so that Google searching Gibson Guitar or Suhr Guitars doesnt get you a Fender or a Suhr, you get a Zachary or whatever, you ought to be ashamed of yourself to have to be a leech on to someone elses name to try to forward your product. Please do feel free to E-mail me back at this address with any rebuttle or justification for this.
Collin McDougall      collin_mcdougall@hotmail.com

must be easy to sit back in your tiny little shop and make one B.C.Rich wave a month. Do you really think your guitars are revolutionary? Not only are they ugly but they are not of an original design. And who the fuck is Bobby Simcox. One of your loser friends that could play "Freebird" ? To sum it all up, just cause your design isn't original and you can't get any publicity(or pussy) doesn't give you the right to bash other companies.    e.paige1@verizon.net

The "boss" at Zachary music:
It's a good thing I'm not too easily upset. I have been going through your website and though I have no personal knowledge of your guitars they do seem well made and, to some extent, very innovative. I found some of your site to be informative, some of it to be entertaining, and some of it to be somewhat amusing B.S. You also seem to be someone who would have done well as a "huckster" at Barnum and Bailey or Ringling Brothers. You make an awful lot of claims and a lot of them even make a fair amount of sense but come-on-now...if all of your statements were based on actual fact, the rest of us should all close up shop right now.

If there was a way to do it, I would challenge you to a "world's best guitar" showdown of some sort but luckily for at least one of us that will not likely ever happen. If you want to...feel free to check out my guitars at http://www.ganderguitars.com
In a much more subdued manner, I claim to make the world's best guitar. That is based on what I am told by every musician who has played one, not on a bunch of hype. There are any number of ways to design, build, and finish a world class guitar. Your way and my way are certainly not the only ways and the quality of the end product depends mostly on the quality and care of the construction as much as on the method of construction. In the end, If the player thinks his or her guitar is the best guitar in the world...then it doesn't really matter if it actually is or not. Our job is to satisfy the player...hopefully beyond his expectations. Thanks for your time Ray Gander / Gander Guitars   gguitars@mts.net

Hey man, What do you have against cnc machines anyway?. If there is a technology that can get cheap guys like me a cheap ass perfectly carved guitar from korea or japan Im all for it. I wish we lived in a world where every guitar was carved by a lifeless robot that doesnt talk bullshit about tone (no offence) and cost $50 whitch is roughly double what is costs to make. The funny thing is that is realy doesnt take mutch to make a good guitar. Look at van halen all you need is a cookie cutter body, neck, bridge and a nice pickup. All practical, pure function and the parts are totaly interchangable. Its easy to make a good pickup too doesnt even cost more that a "cheap" pickup its just that for the sake of marketing the $3000 guitars use pups that are not sabotaged. The point is that as long as a guitar is playable it doesnt matter who made it or what its made of. You only sound good from practice. About a year a go I found your site cos I looked up "best electice guitar ever" and when i saw your work I wanted one realy bad. I know a lot more about guitars now tho. The best guitar ever is the one That costs $100 for materials and you put it together your self. Anyway your guitars are to expensive and no one realy needs them. Instead of selling then you should just show the unbelievers how to make gutars like you do.       tyme_boi@hotmail.com

hey man, Thanks for putting my mail on the idiot page. I just couldn't believe you had time to read all this "fan mail". I have a question for you.
If you were to draft your guitar necks and bodies and have cnc machine cut them and put it all together would it still sound like a zack?. Or do you use voodoo magic to make them sound good?. Tell me is it the enchanted woods harvested from the ancient marhes of Gorormir ,sprinkled with elf juice squeezed from the phallus of virgin mugwamps while aged for centuries under the watchful eyes or one thousand serpents. Carved by the magic hands of the mystical wizard Alex?. Is that why people are totally bonkers about your guitars?..... well is it?                tyme_boi@hotmail.com

BROCKEN NECK!!!    I've playing guitar for more than 40 years and besides my family, it's the love of my life. 5 years ago I was blind-sided by rheumatoid arthritis and not only lost the ability to play guitar but saw my life reduced to sitting in a wheelchair and also lost my business and almost my home. After a 3 year search for a medication that worked I'm glad to say I'm out of the chair and so very happy to be playing again. I've got a whole new view on life. I've never played one of your guitars and never will. After reading the opinion of your fuckhead friend eli, I am going to do all I can to bring to the forefront, your company's obvious bias, some would even say discriminatory policy against anyone with arthritis. I am a spokesperson for Enliven which is a group of more than half a million people nation wide with different types of arthritis, all users of a miracle drug called Enbrel. I am sure that we will be able to spread the word about the discrimination of people with arthritis by zachary guitars, shouldn't be too hard. If you do care, and that rant by eli is just to make you sound edgy, I suggest you remove it from your website, or I'll put the word out and we'll see how you like losing your business. If these were the old days, I'd just break eli's fuckin neck. This is not a test, and I don't fuck around when it comes so discrimination.      T.    rao_family@comcast.net

Curious - Z3
Zach, OK, maybe another one of the 'Idiots' that rides Harley's, plays Guitar and loves to shoot rifles (no tattoos (yet) or piercings). I'm curious about your guitars, if I can get past the head stock (dang ugly and how do you line up the strings to the nut??). Why not try to make them align with the nut to improve nut life and string life (and possibly sustain).
The Z2 looks finished with nice rounded edges. The Z3 looks a little more sculpted nice bolt on idea (patent it if you can! or is that from Peavy?), and the string through body has to help. How's the balance and weight? I have also built Warmoth / kit guitars (3 of them as a matter of fact). String through body strats (2 of them) and a Dual Humbucker Artist (PRS looking) Mahogany / quilted maple top, red stain / ebony fingerboard, gotoh 510 bride 1 3/4 nut. NICE Guitar! (I'm not quiting my day job to make guitars).
'It seems clear that PRS is Carlos Santana, the two are inseparable.'? I saw this comment somewhere around your website. That said, there's a hell of a lot of artists playing PRS's (listed below). I own one (an older 1992 PRS 24 / 10 top, and love it).
I don't think all the PRS bashing is helping your cause at all, in fact it has about turned me off to considering a Z3. Paul Smith has made some good contributions to guitar building (I don't agree with everything he does, but ...). He stuck with what he believed in despite adversity, and the article knocks him for that? WTF? Do you know how many folks want artists to use their products? You wouldn't enjoy all the badgering either!
When it comes to overpriced junk I put Les Pauls (with the shitty tuners, right up there) and most Fenders are under powered gut-less sounding unless some serious hardware is swapped in and the amp is set perfectly for that 'quack' a fender makes (eg. SRV or Eric Johnson).
Do your business based on your own merit, not by ripping someone else's product, which by the way, as far as sculpted tops, finish, design etc. PRS does look nicer than the primitive Z1 'box cuts' at near the same price?!
Zachary tattoo? LMAO ... maybe a good place for the tattoo? Hmmmm a 'PRS' tattoo when limp, that says 'Paul Reed Smith' when ... never mind. LOL. Good Luck (see PRS artists below .. just pisses you off don't it?!),    Scott B     scottb630@gmail.com

I wonder how much effort it would take to ignor him and his pathetic little web page. The ONLY reason his guitars are getting more than a passing glance and an "ehh..." is by baiting and hype. He means NOTHING. He is not in competition with the likes of PRS, Gibson, Fender, etc... Trying to elevate the status of his guitars by saying his knowledge and design surpasses these highly sucessful manufacturers. To me is akin to a telemarketer telling Trump how to run his business. He is just a guy that has made a handful of basic guitars (nothing more nothing less). Leave it alone! Walk away! Let sleeping Dogs (well in this case yappy Chihauhau) Lie. There just gots to be something better to do than talk about that little man.    fryovanni    Peace, Rich (Portland OR)

Yo, Zach! Are you starving yet? 'Cause I know you're not making any sales to REAL musicians. Not with your attitude, and not with Gibson PRS and Fender right close by to make the instruments we want anyway.... You go, boy! Keep pissin' potential customers off! Yeah man! Your instruments are BETTER than PRS or whoever. Just ask you! Good luck, loser.   Jim Steele     sribubba@gmail.com

I'll go buy a PRS McCarty, a Parker Fly Mojo, Two Fender EJ Strats, or a Gibson Les Paul Limited for that kind of dough. And I'll get a guitar that doesn't look like it was built out of dumpster wood or scraps from the Home Depot. Nut job. You can't compete with builders like Perry, LGM, or even Suhr with an ugly "craft fair" guitar at that price point.

Ah, I see, I'm not one of "those" people who are "sophisticated" enough to recognize the value of one of the ugliest, most overpriced guitars on the planet. The question is, who would want to pay that much for a Zach guitar? I mean, seriously, why on earth would you pay THAT MUCH for a guitar that may have a great design, but looks like a pile 'o junk? Actually, I think I have this Alex guy figured out:
1. Build a guitar with whatever wood scraps I have laying around or can find.
2. Convince everyone that I'm a boutique builder and my guitars are works of art because they have no durable finish and I couldn't be bothered to sand out the tool marks.
3. Charge a minimum of $2500 for one of my works of art.
4. ???
5. Profit!

James Craft, esq.  (Crafty)    jrcraft79@yahoo.com

I mean, come ON. Putting stuff like 'tool marks are a sign of craftsmanship' on a website? Seriously? That's just excusing sloppy workmanship on a guitar with a 2500 dollar base price   Mattia (NL)

What the f#$% do you think you're building? To tell me that I might not deserve to buy one of your odd looking guitars is laughable. I have no need for your ugly looking thing and would be embarrassed to be seen with one. Peter P.S. If you're wondering how I got to your website - by accident.
Peter Miscio      peter@horizon-furniture.com

What the… Dude you are possibly the most fucked up person I have ever encountered! Your guitars are hideous to the point of being hilarious... yet you seem to wank all over your own guitars so much that its almost embarrasing to read... Most of your 'innovations' seem regressive and even daft in some cases. Judging by your videos, it seems that my 4 yr old can make a more pleasent noise with his guitar than you can You obviously lack basic social skills.. you seem like a complete sociopath actually As for the dead bird thing... I dont even want to guess. Delving any deeper into your mind would just be disturbing to the point of being quite saddening. My complete pity goes out to any poor soul who wasted their money on one of those abominations you call guitars.

I *highly* doubt that any of his instruments have sold anywhere near what he's been asking for them. A lot have probably been given away, too.
James Craft, esq.  (Crafty)    jrcraft79@yahoo.com

The funny thing is that I was just going to say that I will build him a Zach. I guess he does not want one.
I have been playing since I was 12, I'll be 43 this month. I was called Ed Nugent when I was 13. I have owned to many guitars to count right now. I have not found anything that has pleased me any more than the $300.00 japanese les paul copy I owned originally. Yes they played better and or sounded better but had no more soul or whatever you want to call it.

This all being said, I really did consider trying the sg shaped p 90 guitar you have listed as "for sale" until I read that you feel your the judge of what a guitar player is and therefore who has the "right" to buy your guitars. First off, in the U.S.A this in not your right. No I'm not a lawyer but have owned a couple of business's. More importantly. You sales technique of supposedly caring about who blows whatever cash you charge is extremely pretentious at the very least. More likely its the same advertising crap as all the rest. BTW science boy. Your headstock is a tone and sustain killer. Tress are stupid and also an obvious way to save labor and wood. Fuck off poseur.   Ed St.Antoine    vlizard@wowway.com

This is a message apparently from a famous guitar maker who claims at least to be more well known than I am. I wonder who it could be? He sure went out of his way to really be anonymous. I wish he would have more balls and post his name and location.

NO MORE BOBBY AND NO MORE OLSON TWINS!

Subject: guitars and machines
The truth is you couldn't tell the difference in a guitar carved by hand, and one done on a CNC. Your moronic customers are too stupid to know this. You probably don't even have any customers and only fake it on your site, like you fake everything else.

I make guitars by hand as well. Would I like a CNC router? Sure. Seems like it would be quite handy. But you still have to program the machine, and that's a LOT of work. You have to make a 3D model of the guitar. You have to program all that into the CNC router. It ain't easy! That would be too much for you, you technological imbecile. BTW, Parker Fly, one of the greatest and most technologically advanced guitars in history, are also carved on a CNC machine. Oh, and Gibsons and Fenders and most other brands, virtually all respected guitars now offered.

You are history dimwhit, the way you do it is moronic and outdated. Doing things the slow hard way doesn't make better guitars, it just makes the builder make less money on each guitar because of the time involved. It is plain stupid, but what should one expect from you. In your case it seems to be bitterness at not being as successful as PRS. I bet you would love to be as rich and famous as them and you are full of hatred because the best players in the world are not playing your guitars but they line up to play PRS. Anyone can see how jelous you are, you are not fooling anyone. Who do you have as customers, a bunch of no-name hacks.

If you really believed in your guitars, you wouldn't have to have trickery to TRY and get people to your site. You wouldn't need to title your pages as Gibson or PRS. You wouldn't need the Olson twins. You obviously think you can't get anyone to your site without these tricks. Only the stupid fall for it. And you are right, because that's the reality you are creating. Nobody intelligent wants gimmicks form a lowlife.

One other thing… the lack of a trem cover on the back of your guitar makes it look cheap and home made. Anyone in a school shop class can make a better guitar than you. You have done nothing to innovate guitar design, anyone can see that and you abviously have no talent only desception. So really man, take a deep breath, remove all that crap from your site, and let the guitars speak for themselves. Also the Bobby love fest is a bit sickening.. get a room already!

As far as you make God's guitars..I laugh!!! God don't like ugly!!! Your guitars are an insult to our Lord and Saviour. You really think your guitars are the best??? Get a life loser!!! Get rid of all the gimmicks and see how well they do on their own merits. Send one to Guitar Player for review. Of course most people who might be interested will go to your site and be totally turned off from wanting one. I bet those who were suckered into buying one, all hate it but are too embarrassed to admit it. Your site is filled with hatred. You seem very bitter and angry. That's bad energy to mix with something like guitars, and in the end will come back to bite you in the ass. You attract into your life what you focus on, and in your case it seems to be bitterness at not being as successful as PRS.

Yes, I'm sending this anonymously because I'm more well know than you are, and I don't feel like being part of your childish letter posting nonsense. You make me sick! Truth is truth. Now start telling the truth. Oh and yes you can reply to this.   Peace and Blessings.   anonymous.d8d2bc01a1@anonymousspeech.com

I didn't even know how to respond to this one. Does he deserve a Zach?
Hi........I was snooping around on your website because of a high degree of interest in your guitars but to my chagrin, all the guitars you have posted have been sold or are NFS. I think this is rather ridiculous and not very good public relations you think? Most dealers will post what they have and not what was sold. Anyway I'm still interested. Will you have anything for sale anytime soon?   Thanks Ray Sudbury, Ontario    rippinglickfest@yahoo.ca

Am I crazy or am I genius? I thought that was one in the same?
I don't know why but guitar builders don't seem to like me very much, they keep telling me how wrong I am and how badly I am doing.

I've seen the Zachary guitars site a few times over the years, and I would suggest that anyone considering his strings first get a general feel for this guys approach, attitude, and...general level of "self-confidence" before giving his information too much weight. One of the classic definitions of a crazy person is the guy who can explain in great detail why he's right and everybody else in the history of his field is wrong. One out of a million times, that guy is a genius. The other 999,999 times.... Cheers, Martin Keith (guitar builder) keithguitars@hotmail.com

A message to all you idiots out there who cannot think for yourselves and allow me to brainwash you.
With these great powers I have over people, I should rather be running for President and not waste my time talking gutiars. This from an "Illegal", after a hard day out in the fields.

You need help with you superiority complex! So what guitar co. let you down? Get over it and just sale your guitars. To be honest, anyone that buys your guitars is an idiot! They are just following someone that is telling them what he thinks they should play and are not allowed to decide for themselves what is best for them. Stop trying to brainwash our future guitarist. your guitars are no better than mine and at least they get what they want for half the price with out the bullshit you feed them! Let people play what they want and stop the bitter sad boy act just to sale over priced and uncomfortable guitars.     George   SagGeo06@aol.com

Love the comment. You're an evil brainwashing Voodoo beast. ;-) For what it's worth, in reply to that moron, Simba is still my main axe, and barring accidents it always will be. It is the best sounding and most comfortable guitar I have ever had the fortune to get my hands on, and my tone has guitarists all around me drooling. A guitar like that would not be overpriced at twice what I payed. So thanks for brainwashing me. :-)   David

It is funny....I took a chance on my first Z....and then when I actually played it....I suppose that was all the "brainwashing" I needed. A great instrument will do that to a person. "let people play what they want"....well that is what you are doing. You turn away more people than not.....they obviously can play whatever they want....as long as it is NOT a Z. Even some of the Z players play other guitars.....it is too bad....but they still do what they want. The fact is that the brainwashing is that which is done by the giant corporate machine that is Fender, Gibson, Taylor, PRS, and all the rest with their computer made guitars and phony endorsement deals. How can people really "get what they want" if they have been so conditioned? They don't even know what is out there and what is possible.   Eli

Dude why are your pedals so expensive are you using Gold wire and solder or what? Diamond bearings maybe in the pots? $400 bux for a pedal your crack dealer after you or what?   Jonathan C Hall    jonathan@jonathansphoto.com

Oh, and one more thing. Your snotty little attitude has just cost you a couple hundred dollars of business. Yeah yeah yeah, I know you don't care. blah blah blah. I don't care either. I'll spend my money elsewhere. Oh, and don't bother replying with a snappy comeback. It'll be deleted without reading!

Cool SRP page.
All those spelling mistakes...hey look, a flock of morons! ;-)
The only one making any kind of sense and having an ability to write correctly is the last 3rd one on the page, but even he does not get it. Everyone thinks every luthier wants to be like PRS. The American Dream. To me it's a horror story. Not making guitars anymore, and only doing the PR? Man, would you like that? Just being a face? A guitar is not a product, to be designed just for making money. A guitar is a living, breathing being, and as such, needs to be made by a human living being. Not by something that goes : "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!" in it's free time. I just bought 500$ worth of AAAAAgrade pine guitartop-material from Ikea, and will perversely turn it into furniture for a child's room.   David (Belgium)

Hi Alex
I've just seen your "PRS Fans Strike Back" page. The most intelligent correspondent is Peter Cotsis, and the most illuminating. By every word he writes, it's clear that he just doesn't get what you're about. You and him might as well be at opposite ends of the Galaxy. The truly revealing thing about the Cotsis Apologia is that nowhere does it mention that PRS "guitars" are supposed to be musical instruments.

In fact, Cotsis is dead right:
1) PRS are indeed all about the esthetic 2) yes, the finish is flawless; and 3) it's all about marketing.

Most significantly, he does NOT claim that PRS are killer guitars that play and sound like no other. With reason. There are cheap PRS copies out there that feel, play and sound just like the real deal. Played blindfold, you couldn't tell the difference. But from the very first note, a real guitarist will KNOW they are playing something very special when they pick up a Zachary.

So - if it's all the same with the legion of PRS fans who can't face the reality of having spent an awful lot of money on a piece of fancy furniture and having been taken in by the hype - I'll just stick with my Zachary Cutting Board, thanks. In fact, if I had the temerity, I'd ask you for a 26" scale Z3T, but I know how busy you are and I'd be being selfish and greedy as you have more deserving customers. PS. The new D1 (150504) is yet another masterpiece. It's so classy and elegant. The smoked perspex scratch-plate really sets it off.
All the best Ludwik (UK)

I went to the web site of that guy who challenged you to a "build-off." That was also very funny in numerous ways, I'll let the other Zach-heads out there go to his site and look at his guitars. They are very, very amusing. I think that guy thought because the "Z" is an "unconventional" design that he was in the running with you. But he doesn't understand the real essence of what you do. You are Bauhaus, he is outhouse (sorry, couldn't resist). But people really should look at his guitars (Bobby & Eli, this means YOU!!!) - besides the really hysterical high prices, their ugliness is unmatched by anything I've ever seen.  Rob Frankel

BROCKEN NECK!!!    Well, I just couldn't resist sending this moron an email.........I hope I didn't cross any non-defined lines here. Here is is: I find it hard to believe that you think you can put Zachary guitars out of business. To tell you the truth, musicians don't give a damn about politics or opinions about anything but music as a whole when it comes to buying a guitar. So putting him out of business is a pipe dream. But I seriously doubt that Zachary guitars has anything against people with rheumatoid arthritis, that's just stupid. And as far as what Eli said, Alex does NOT censor his forum in any way, and lets us all have our own opinions no matter what............you should appreciate freedom of speech? And I seriously doubt that Eli meant anything when he said whatever it was that he said. I happen to have rheumatoid arthritis (mine is called negative rheumatoid arthritis ) and I don't care what anyone says in the forum about it, I still play fine due to very strong meds. So, if you want to waste your time with this "politically correct" horsecrap, I suggest that you look into the legal aspects of what you can and CANNOT say about a business that can cause a monetary decline in sales.............it's called liable defamation of character, amongst other things and against the law..........especially when sent across state lines via the Internet.......food for thought. I just HATE "politically Correct" people...........they are the most paranoid, useless bunch of ass kissers on the planet, and in my opinion should be stricken from the face of the earth............however.........if I am to truly believe in freedom of speech.........then I have to put up with your nonsense just as you have to put up with mine.........so go ahead and be a pompous, self serving ass kisser.........no one will censor you. But if you cross that line between legal and illegal.........well...............you will find out the hard way, and no one wants to see that. Why don't you put your bias aside and try a Zachary guitar and then form an opinion............OR GO BUY A WALL TROPHY AND SHUT THE FUCK UP. BS WAIVER: I do not work for Zachary guitars, I am merely a member of the forum and have my own opinions that are thankfully not censored here.     Richard E. Pollan/ SKYNETRP

Maybe you guys should spend more time trying to build nice guitars rather than having a go at someone who is obviously quite content with his own creations and handiwork. I mean, if he is selling them, thats fantastic. I bet 90% of the forumites here would love to be doing what he does (regardless of opinions).
Oh, well, lets all group together and poke fun at him then.... If you dont like the guy or his guitars, go and build a guitar, better than him, faster, more often, and then sell them for a higher price. Show us that yours are better. Or, you could just sit back and type all day... There are people who "can do", and people who knock them. Which one are you?    - guitar forum member (Australia)

fuck wad gANDER
Hey Zach! Found your site and checked out your guitars. They are very fine indeed. I guess we all have individual tastes in a guitar, but yours seem like they would appeal to almost anyone. I was reading up on that hate mail you have and particularily that dumb FUCK from gANDER gUITARS... What a fucking idiot LOL I have three things to say, 1) His guitars are uglier then all FUCK itself, it could sound like a harp from heaven but it is still damnned UGLY. 2) He pegs himself as one hell of a boastfull and conceited asshole. 3) It is in poor taste and poor business mannor to bash a fellow guitar maker. I hope his Karma comes through for bashing your creations in his arrogance! Well tell ya what brother, one day I may have you make me a set of strings, how does that sound? Please post this and make sure fuck wad from gANDER see's it lol Keep up the fine work! Peace always, Enigma
